Milk, Eggs, and Banking

The third largest credit union in Fort Worth Texas recently opened in-store branches in two Albertson's grocery stories and announced it will open two more in 2003.

The community credit union, EECU, said it saved about 75 percent in building expenses by opening in the grocery stores. The credit union has equipped those branches with a remote teller system that allows members to walk up to the in-store branch's interactive video screen and communicate with sales associates for that branch who are located in a back office.
