Web Protection

New products and enhancements to old products designed to help banks battle web intrusions from the outside and email abuse from the inside are being introduced at a rate aimed at keeping up with the fast-paced crimes they fight. And some companies are gearing products specifically towards community banks.

Brasfield Technology, LLC recently announced the launch of two new products. One of them is an intrusion detection system that acts as a filter for network traffic between the bank and the Internet. It provides real time alerts to bank staff when intrusions are detected. It also blocks incoming email viruses and reduces advertisements and pop-up ads in individual web browsers. The product lets bank computer personnel quickly identify systems that might contain viruses or have spyware installed. It also monitors employee activity to identify employees who might be abusing Internet privileges. The company is also offering an enhanced email service that encrypts emails in transit between employee PCs and Brasfield servers, which protect the emails from hackers trying to get into internal bank communications.
