"I Did Wrong - Take It Back"

ESB Bank in Ambridge, PA (outside Pittsburgh) was robbed a little before 10:00 a.m. on November 9th by 39 year old Andre Ellis. He wrote a note to the teller. "Put the money on the counter," the note said. "Sorry I did this. God forgive me. I need help."

After he left the bank, Mr. Ellis walked a block and went into a laundromat. He could see the police cars going towards the bank from inside.

20 minutes later he walked the block back to the bank and tried to go in. Employees had done what they were supposed to do and the door was locked. He started banging on the door. Police were alerted and they quickly arrested him.

This is where the report gets a little strange. Ellis was trying to get into the bank to give back the $1,000 he had just stolen. He said he "...knew I had done wrong and wanted to make it right."

We hope this starts a trend.
