FCC Telemarketing Reprieve
The FCC has postponed the effective date of the most controversial component of its telemarketing rule until January 1, 2005. The only part of the rule that is extended is the requirement that a business obtain a customer's permission before sending advertising faxes to the customer. All other components of the rule take effect on October 1, 2003.
