ID Theft SARs

There is a problem when filing SARs on identity theft. We may know who the victim is but not who the identity thief is. So when filing a SAR on identity theft, be very careful about how you fill out the information and the narrative. Don't make the report about the victim. The victim has enough problems. The SAR should be about the thief and limited to what you know about the thief. Leave your customer alone!
