Anti-virus Products Tested and Rated
Microsoft's Live OneCare suite, introduced last year, came in last in an Austrian study of anti-virus products.Seventeen different anti-virus products, including the better-known Symantec and McAfee solutions, were put through a series of tests.Read the entire study and find out how good your anti-virus solution is.

Patchless Tuesday?
Despite nine security vulnerabilities still outstanding in Microsoft products, no security updates will be released from Redmond this upcoming Patch Tuesday.Microsoft will release four non-security updates through Microsoft Update and WSUS.Instead of spending Tuesday and Wednesday applying patches, it looks like system administrators will be busy figuring out other methods to keep their systems safe.

Quick! It's Patch Time for Apple!
Apple released a QuickTime update containing numerous security patches.Eight security vulnerabilities and several other bugs are fixed in the QuickTime 7.1.5 release.SANS recommends that all users update as soon as possible.

Microsoft VoIP Calling
Microsoft will publicly release a beta version of their Voice over IP (VoIP) solution, Windows Live Communications Server 2007, this month.Millions of users are expected to test the software, which will allow calling directly from Outlook and other Microsoft products.Read the full story on InformationWeek.

US-CERT Lists 76
The US-CERT Vulnerability Summary for the Week of February 26, 2007, lists thirty High, fourteen Medium, and thirty-two Low severity vulnerabilities.Security gaps were announced in Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Publisher, Mozilla's Firefox, SeaMonkey and Thunderbird, Novell's ZENWorks, and the Tor proxy server.
