Comments due on FDIC proposal to pull 'Deposits' regulations for state savings associations

The FDIC has published at 84 FR 44558" a proposal to rescind and remove the "Deposits" regulations at 12 CFR part 390, subpart M, comprising sections 390.230 and 390.231. The agency deems the rules unnecessary and duplicative of currently applicable provisions of law with respect to the maintenance of deposit account records at state savings associations. These regulations apply solely to state savings associations, and were included in the regulations that were transferred to the FDIC from the Office of Thrift Supervision on July 21, 2011. Comments on the proposal are due by September 25, 2019.
