Comments due on FTC request for comment on Negative Option Rule


The Federal Trade Commission has published an advance notice of proposed rulemaking [84 FR 52393] seeking comment on the need to amendments to the Commission's “Rule Concerning the Use of Prenotification Negative Option Plans” (also known as the “Negative Option Rule”), 16 CFR part 425, to help consumers avoid recurring payments for products and services they did not intend to order and to allow them to cancel such payments without unwa obstacles. Comments will be accepted by December 2, 2019.
