While I am glad that Aaron won, I am a bit confused. . .in the previous seasons, when it got down to the final challenge, wasn't the winner determined by viewers (call in voting)???

I didn't recall that the panel had ever chosen the winner in the past.

I knew Adam wasn't going to win when they kept showing commercials for a new show called "Ask Aida" that was essentially the same premise as his show was going to be.

I still want to see Kelsey do a "Culinary School" show and teach different techniques!

Congrats to Aaron, let's home he goes more than one season.

I think that Kelsey could have a successful show if she can tone it bit.

I'm very Lisa didn't win, she just rubbed me the wrong way with the snobby attitude.

I wasn't really surprised that Aaron won - he was Bobby's favorite. I really do think that it should be up to the viewing public to decide anyway. After all, we are the ones who would be tuning in to see. It just seemed anticlimatic to me.

Lisa lost it to me when she said that since she had mastered a zabaglione at age 13 that anyone should be able to. I just found that rather condescending and insulting - but maybe I'm being too sensitive. She just seemed rather full of herself.

I think Kelsey could do a good job with a "Culinary School" show, BF. I think it would be interesting to watch.

I was pleased that Aaron won, I will watch his show for sure. Also, this year the winners show is starting right away, that's a good thing. Last year the winner's show didn't start till the fall and by then I had forgotten all about her.

I liked Lisa in some way and disliked her in other ways. I agree that she could be very condescending and I would probably never make anything she did.

I am glad the snot didin't win. Every time she pulled out the "teary act" I wanted to slap her. She was a condescending [censored].

Aw, DQ, please let us know how you REALLY feel!

I agree totally. I don't think I'd watch her show based on what I've seen her do on this one. She may not mean to come across as knowing it all, but she does!

I'm sorry, but I just had to laugh when Lisa was bragging that she had a designer line of aprons that she was marketing. She was really proud of the fact that she now had seven? designer aprons to sell. How much creativity does it take to design an apron? And apprenticing under her husband's tutellage for 16 years? You would think she has gotten it right by now????

Who really wears aprons like that any more? I can remember my mother wearing them when I was young.

I could not stand to look at Lisa long enough to watch a 30 minute show - some of the faces she pulls just make me queasy! She seemed very condescending without knowing it if that makes sense.

Of the pilots, I thought that Adam's was the best, he seems like a natural. Aaron just is not comfortable in front of the camera, and it shows.

I wasn't thrilled with the outcome, and I agree that Aaron will need some coaching to hone his personality on-screen. I thought Adam did the best promo, personality-wise, and didn't really mind Lisa's. The comments from the judges were misleading (as always), as they seemed to love Lisa's "show."

The public votes on the "fan favorite" - not on the outcome. That has to come from those who have actually tasted the food.

I'll watch his show - at least to see if he improves....

I think we DID vote last year though - I remember texting in my vote for Rory a couple of times.

Anybody catch Aaron's show this weekend? I was pleasantly surprised. He did well on camera, I thought. Also a good idea to have his young son be a part of the show. That brings something unique to the show.

Aaron was also on Down Home with the Neeleys and seemed quite relaxed on their show as well.

Maybe he is finally over the camera jitters. He'd better be!

I missed both shows this weekend! I love the Neeleys!

I went out to do grocery shopping before they started, and well, they had a hot sauce festival at the "grocery store", with 50 different vendors of salsas and hot sauces and it turned from an hour or so shopping trip to an all day event!

My husband and I watched Aaron's show yesterday and we enjoyed it. He does seem to have gotten over a lot of his nerves. However, the show was very "over-produced"; lots of cut-aways and showing you the last step, with the work in the middle of the show done off-camera. So I'm thinking that means that Aaron does still have some things to learn.

Since both Aaron and Adam are from the Philly area, I saw the following item on the Philadelphia Inquirer website:

Winner Aaron McCargo Jr. of Camden premiered Big Daddy's House yesterday. South Philly's Adam Gertler, one of two runners-up, is in L.A. shooting Will Work for Food. Gertler's half-hour Food Network show combines his comedy with a sense of adventure and premieres at 9:30 p.m. Sept. 30. It's not a cooking show, per se. Gertler will show how people in the food business do their jobs. Among them: potato chip inspector, shark feeder and dog-food taste-tester. Gertler, an actor and former waiter at Amada in Old City, coowned The Smoked Joint, a short-lived barbecue restaurant at the Academy House in Center City.

So it looks like both Aaron and Adam ended up as "stars" on the Food Network.

Good for Adam. That sounds like a great fit for his personality.

I kind of like Adam's show concept.

Has anyone watched "Food Detectives"?

Tried to. Thought it was a waste of Ted's talent and changed channels.

Did watch Robert's last Dinner:Impossible. Never liked the new Iron Chef who is taking over the show starting next week so I doubt I'll even tune in for a glimpse of that one.

Who ARE the Neeleys? I've never heard of them and now they've got two shows? Did Guy quit Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives or are there now two 'road' shows on FTV?

The Neeleys run barbecue restaurants, in Memphis and I'm not sure where else. They were featured on "Road Tasted" last season with the Dean brothers, and got their own show "Down Home with the Neeleys" as a result. Apparently they have taken over "Road Tasted" too (no more Dean brothers) but I haven't heard or read anything about why that change occurred for this season of "Road Tasted."

Guy is still on "Diners"--it is on tonight at 10:00 EST, I assume a new episode because they have all been new lately on Monday nights.
