Couple of questions regarding stop payments...

1. Does a stop payment made via online banking constitute a written or oral stop payment? I'm thinking it is considered written, but I'm not positive.

2. Does the mention of the stop payment fee in the account terms and conditions given at account opening serve as sufficient notice of the fee, or are we in violation if we don't provide it again when they do the stop payment online?

I realize it's good customer service, etc. but we are having some trouble with our online banking that won't be fixed until around Sept., so we are trying to determine if we need to turn the stop payment feature "off" on online banking for now.

Thanks for your help!

Got my answers.

1. Yes that electronic stop payment is sufficient.

2. No requirement to provide additional notice, but yes, it's good customer service.
