throwing a bucket of water on BF Kewl it, BF. Did you watch the race AND the interview afterwards? Michael made a big deal out of making sure Jason Lezak got the credit he deserved for winning the race. Garrett made a point of stating that Michael was focused on the team winning the relay, not his getting another gold for his personal count. This was a TEAM event and Cullen, Jason, Garrett and Michael acted as a team both in the water and on land. Maybe we should all band together and be a team to support them, what da' ya' think?

Well go to the MSN Homepage then.... Lezak's pic has been up all morning at the top of the page about his efforts.

then i suggest you go the offical Olympic website, you can read all you want about who you want. BTW, the 41-year old is Dana Torres, she had her daughter 2+ years ago, so she isn't "new." And she is the reason the American women are silver, instead of gold, she petered out in the last 25 meters on her leg. And yeas, I knew who Jason Lezak was, they talked at length about him yesterday, including how he is the only professional swimmer on the US squad who coaches himself.
As far as your issue with the press, I suggest you write to NBC...I'm sure Bob Costas and Jim Lampley will be happy to change coverage just for you. In case you're not aware of it, minor sports and minor stars don't make good press coverage. And if you saw the post-race interview, you would see that Phelps minimized his answers to allow the others to talk, but the lady interviewing kept directing the questions to him.

The reason Phelps is getting so much press is not because he adores the spotlight, but rather because of the world's expectations of what he can (and hopefully WILL) accomplish. This adulation is not only on the home front. Across the world people are watching, holding their breath, and rooting for him. True, the Olympics are not all about Phelps, but the press he is being given is worthy of someone who is about to become the most decorated athlete ever to participate in the Games. I am sorry you can't seem to join the bandwagon BF. AND, the other athletes are getting press. Prior to each new event, the spotlight focuses on the athletes from that event, a biography of sorts, and if you were watching NBC, you'd see that.

You must be joking that it's her fault the US got silver!!! Torres swam the fastest split of the team! (Coughlin 54.00, Nymyer 53.91, Joyce 53.98, Torres 52.44) In fact, only one swimmer was faster in the pool that night! And that was Lisbeth Trickett from 3rd place Australia at 52.34. Torres gained on the Netherlands anchor who swam a 52.58.

kitty - I don't think you're doing much damage to Pale when you kick him in the boots with your little cat feet. (I have a sledge hammer here if that will help)
