My security officer is interested in finding out how many Texas Banks still have employees replenish the cash in ATMs. I have a poll going over in the Private - Security Forum, but that's a poll for anyone in the nation. Would any of you be willing to tell me if you use an employee or an armored service? Or would anyone be willing to discuss the pros and cons? Please feel free to PM me.

We use a service. Came down to time and saftey. When you build in time to count, balance and replenish the machine, with two people being involved, the service's costs weren't much more than the soft costs. Add in increase employee safety, and that pretty much tipped the scale for us to go with a service.

Our employees do it, but we are a small community bank and only have ATMs at our banking centers.

ATM's that can be accessed from inside the branch - we do it. ATM's that have to be accessed from outside - armored car service. It's a matter of the insurance costs, and the safety of our employees.

But - you know me and know our bank, we are smaller and only have 4 ATMs.
