Normally I wouldn't speak up about common occurrences but this has got the attention of several folks. Read about a new nasty here. Remember to keep your virus protection up to date.

Worm/MiMail.A is an Internet worm that spreads through e-mail by using addresses it collects from local files. It arrives with a zip file attachment, "message.zip"- this file contains the file "message.html". Using the noted security exploit within Internet Explorer, message.html will produce an executable file and run it. The worm arrives through e-mail in the following format:

Subject: your account
Body:

Hello there,

I would like to inform you about important information
regarding your email address. This email address will be
expiring. Please read attachment for details.

---
Best regards, Administrator

Attachment: message.zip

I had three of them in my inbox this morning when I came in. Our anti-virus program had stripped the attachments from them, though, so I couldn't have opened the attachments if I had wanted to.
