This isn't the first time an email has been circulated that contains false information about a candidate that is spammed across the web. What's unfortunate is, people may use such email propaganda to determine their vote even if that email contains no factual information.

With that said, Darn you all for having goats or wanting goats. I've wanted a goat since I was a little boy. At 8 years old, I told my parents I wanted a goat. I wrote to Santa that I wanted a goat. Every birthday, I wished for a goat when I blew out my candles. Did I ever get a goat? NO!!! So, forget all of you with goats because I wanted one so bad as a kid I just couldn't stand it. ARRRGHGHGHGHGH!!!!

For what it's worth, goats are only cute & fun when they are little. When the get big, they are a pain (especially billy goats....very disgusting!!)

http://www.policelink.com/news/50194--obama-visits-battle-creek-mi-leos-to-stand-at-back-of-bus

is the ONLY reference to this alleged incident that I could find on the web. The author of the "article" clearly states that he has nothing to back it up and can't authenticate this. Right in the article, the author asks for any Michigan law enforcement officers who may have been present to step up and tell the tale. From the lack of anything anywhere in any legitimate news source over the last 11 days since this was alleged to have taken place, I'm concluding this never happened.

It's shameful that people literally make things up, out of whole cloth, in order to propagate their divisive hate and fear mongering. Don't be a party to that, please. If you can't authenticate the source of something, why pass it along?

I had a goat when I was a little kid. Her name was Tinkerbell and my dad built a little cart and harness so she could pull me around the yard. At the age of three, I didn't really enjoy it. The ride was bumpy and Tink only had two speeds: stop and go fast! When we moved, he built a box that would load onto the top of our Plymouth Fury station wagon (black with a red interior, I thought it was the Batmobile at that age) to carry Tink to the new house. We drove along the sideroads, not the major highways. At intersection, daddy would roll down his window, lean out and call out "Tinkerbell! You still there?" Much to our delight and the next car's confusion, Tinkerbell would respond "Ma-a-a-a-ah".

Because of the poor condition of the fences at our new place, my parents boarded Tink with our neighbor, who had other goats. Tink had three sets of triplets over the years. She was quite old when she finally passed on to that Big Pasture in the Sky.

My parents have a goat today, named Matilda. Tildy is kept in a pen in the backyard and occassionally gets put to work grazing the back parts of the yard on a lead line. Tildy has her own pet dog, Little Bit, who is a very shy mixbreed of about 80 lbs. If Bit gets out of the pen and is wandering about the yard, Tildy comes to the gate and bleats loudly, as if to ask "Where is my dog?" That is usually how we find out Bit has escaped the pen.
