It has always been said that if you don't take risk, you don't lend. The banks are not taking risk, not even with each other, afraid to get caught in a domino effect. They don't feel they can assess the risk; too many unknowns, so everyone is paralyzed.
Believe it or not, I have been sitting here this evening reviewing bank financial data from the FDIC database...looking at FHLB loans, brokered deposits, non-accrual loans, etc. - pondering risk, wondering who will make it.
