We're definitley not in Kansas...
I'm just wondering....

I know you are not suppose to campaign within a certain distance from the polls and you are not allowed to wears pins, buttons or stickers proclaiming your candidate inside to vote. But what about bumper stickers/magnets on cars, if I have one on my car, can I still park in the parking lot of the polling place?

Review your state laws. In Wisconsin, you certianly may wear t-shirts, pins and such indicating who you support, but you cannot draw attention to yourself, and if so, you can be asked to remove the item, or be asked to leave.

Generally bumper stickers and magnets and such are exempted... it is the active campaigning too close to the polling site that is nowt allowed.

from the Texas Sec. of State website:

You may not:
Vote in an election in which you know that you are not eligible to vote.
Vote twice in an election.
Provide assistance to a voter who is not eligible to receive assistance.
Suggest how another person should vote by word, sign or gesture while in the polling place.
Intimidate, threaten, or coerce any person from voting or attempting to vote.
Electioneer or loiter within 100 feet of the entrance to the polling place or inside the polling place.
Buy or sell your ballot.
Deposit a ballot in the ballot box that was not given to you by an election official.

In AZ the poll workers will be strongly enforcing the non-campaigning issue at the polls but this begins 75 feet from a polling site. So, most commonly, bumper stickers or anything attached to your car (within reason) would be tolerated so long as you do so in a passive manner.

so when I show up on election Tuesday wearing nothing but :insert candidate name here: underwear and a beer helmet, I run the risk of being sent home?

Our local Party Dudes stand at the entrance to the building and hand out sample ballots. Some are pushier than others.

All signage is a distance away.

I think the tailgate would be a good idea. Go in, vote, then come out to a pig roast and chili cook off!

or you'll just be asked to remove the items (as JJ's original post indicates) and just be left standing there naked!
