So, here's how my morning has been so far...

I woke up late...turns out when I re-set my alarm clock, I somehow got the am and pm mixed up (though I swear I set it right).

So I fly out of bed, shower, get ready, feed the animals, et cetera. I'm almost done getting ready and I put on my watch, and it says 8:10 (and I DID re-set this watch correctly). Carp! Did I seriously take that long to get ready?!

So I scramble to grab all my things and think, since I am running so behind, I'll drive to work instead of take the trolley to save time.

So I'm on the freeway and I go to change the song on my stereo, and the car clock says it's 7:42. What?! I look at my watch, and it STILL says it's 8:10. Ha! My watch died last night apparently! So now I'm halfway to work and going to have to find and pay for parking. I guess it's not the end of the world.

So I get into my office and start logging into my computer. I launch my Outlook and a reminder message pops up: "Vacation day."

:: blank stare::

Vacation day? VACATION DAY?! I was supposed to be on vacation today!!!!!

Sigh... After all I went through to get here, I decided to stay at work. It's the first of the month and I have plenty to do anyway.

Dip - what bank do you work at? (I want to make sure I don't open an account there). HA

In all my years of working, I've yet to show up on a holiday, weekend, or vacation day I had scheduled...

The closest thing I've ever done to this:

I started a new job after being with the same company for 5 years. On my first day of work, after taking two weeks off, I went to my old company office. I realized it when I went to show my badge...and didn't have it.

My alarm didn't go off this morning either. I apparently reset is to PM instead of AM also. But thankfully I woke up only five minutes late. And today wasn't a vacation day for me. LOL.

LOL Dip! That just made my day!!!!!! HAPPY VACATION DAY TO YOU!!!!!! That will be good one to always share with the family to get a great laugh!

I woke up, looked at the clock and it said 8:05. I sprang out of bed, rushed to get ready, then I heard on the radio that by then it was only 7:30.

I forgot to change my alarm clock :embarassed:

Nah... I called my boss, and her first words were, "Aren't you on vacation today?" But, she needs her monthly reports TOMORROW, so shes fine that I showed up. I'll just take a different day off instead :P

Now this cracks me up. I remember when I was in my late teens. My sister jumped out of bed one morning and was hollering that she was late for work. I looked at the clock, tried to clear my head and said 'Crystal - It's Saturday'.

Thanks Dip - that was great! My morning started off similarly - either I turned off the alarm or I failed to turn it on last night! But woke up at 5:30 anyway only to discover that I have a flat tire! So was late getting to work anyway!

It's a good thing my morning was so funny, otherwise I would be really cranky. Glad I could give you all a laugh this morning.

In high school, I had this really ditzy Chemistry teacher. One day, we were waiting to get into class, and she never showed up (and this was 2nd or 3rd period I think btu was her first class of the day). Anyway, after about 10 minutes of waiting, the prinipal showed up and let us into the classroom and watched us for the rest of the period.

Turns out our teacher thought it was Saturday.

Oh, did I mention this was on a Wednesday? LOL!!!

I think most people have done things like that, but I'm not sure if they'd admit it.

One Saturday morning I lost track of what day it was so I got ready for work and actually got to the car before I figured it out.

Another time I kind of blanked out when I got onto the freeway and almost drove all the way to work (20+ miles) before I realized that I was just going to the store.

Last week I woke up and thought 'At least it's Friday'.

A few minutes later I thought 'Oh, silly, it's really Thursday'.

Turns out it was actually Wednesday.

My week just got longer by 2 days in just 15 minutes!

was today another vacation day?

No, but next Monday is. My boss keeps reminding me, lol!
