Well the dr. told him he's fine! He's going for a blood test to check thyroid. She gave him his EMG results and of course we don't understand most of the medical jargon in it so he's going to "google" most terms to find out what they mean.

Huge sigh of relief and again, I have to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your thoughts and prayers. I truly believe they played a part in this and you all are wonderful!

Great news PQ - from experience I can tell you that the Thyroid is a tricky thing; but it can be successfully regulated very easily. Good luck!

Me again. My husband went back to the doctor today, the original one who tested for ALS via an EMG. She is now ordering an MRI of his neck and brain b/c his hands are literally starting to deteriorate. They're becoming hollow. Originally thought to be carpal tunnel, which he does have, she's now ordering this MRI to rule other things out. I'm back to being a basketcase, especially since I had my oldest at hospital yesterday for X-rays for possible appendicitis (which it is not thank god). I'm now worried again about ALS. He is no longer able to button his buttons. He has difficulty holding a pen or write b/c his thumb is pretty useless. I really, really need you all to pray strongly that this is something fixable and not serious.

Oh, PQ, I am so sorry to hear that, you are all in my thoughts. May it be fixeable and fixed quickly.

PQ - my father is almost 87 years old and has had carpal tunnel for about 30 of them. This is exactly where he has deteriorated to, so keep your chin up. He did have surgery one one had about 2 years ago, but unfortunately he didn't have the results he wanted so refused to do the other hand.
