A remake/sequel, with modern special effects, even without the original actors, would be interesting. If even one of the old guys comes back to play the boss of a new crew of GBs, it could be good.

This is crazy

Columbia Pictures is trying to wax on some extra cash with a remake of the 1984 kid classic The Karate Kid. Produced by the franchise's original money man, Jerry Weintraub, the updated version is intended as a star vehicle for Will Smith's 10-year-old son Jaden.

They are remaking ("re-imagining") Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and RoboCop.

In college there was a girl who looked just like Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper). Infact, that became her nickname. Everyone called her Winnie.

Yeah, I totally hooked up with her.

I saw Winnie on an episode of NCIS, I think. My husband couldn't stop drooling. Well, until she died.

Ralph Macchio - the original Karate Kid - does not approve of the Will and son Jayden Smith remake.

Macchio is pretty sure the flick will flop because he says that the public is sick and tired of studios making crappy remakes.

In a new interview, Ralph says, "From my personal view, filling the void of what Mr. Miyagi was - and the magic of that character - is going to be the toughest task. I don't know where the romantic story-arc goes [with Jayden Smith] at that age."

It's blasphemy to remake (reimagine or whatever they call it now) that movie. He's totally right about Mr. Miyagi, he was the best thing in that movie.

Didn't they learn when they tried to reimagine Caddyshack? Don't mess with the originals!
Next thing they'll be saying they're remaking Animal House.

Tim burton, is making Alice in Wonderland, with Johnny Depp as the mad hatter, and i do believe danny elfman is set to do the score.

I'm looking forward to seeing this. A friend of mine is the fight choreographer for it.

Revised Willy Wonka blew as bad as this server!!

Johnny Depp as WW was way creepy and using the same oompa-loompa looped over and over was a rip off!!

I think Tim Burton should do more stop-motion animation. It seems as if that's really his forte.

Disappointing for me.

WW was pretty weird although I've seen it a couple of times on cable since then and I've sort of gotten used to it. I'm thinking that there may have been a midget union strike at the time that movie was filmed and they could only get one scab.

I've heard they're working on a remake of a popular TV show, it will star Camilla and be titled Ms. Ed.
