So sorry to hear that one of your worst fears has been realized. May you find comfort and gain strength in knowing that so many care and are praying for you and your husband.

I thought I'd update everyone. Randy is doing OK but he's digressing faster than I would like. He's very weak and tired and can't use his right hand anymore and is having increasing difficulty walking. He received a special leg brace this week and will begin OT and PT next week. He's on Rizuole, the only FDA approved drug and we're waiting to see if he can start lithium, a drug showing promise to slow or stop the progression of ALS. I've put together a team for the ALS walk in Massachusetts in September, hopefully I can make a difference, no matter how small.


Your thoughts and prayers have meant the world to me and I thank you.

I went to that ALS fundraiser today that I told you about (a little kindergarten girl has a Lunch Tent set up annually during her town's big garage sale weekend - this weekend).

It is cold and raining and windy here today. And yet, there she was, serving customers, while her dad was grilling, all in the name of their family friend who also has ALS. And even in the cold and rain, the crowd kept coming; though there's was the only garage sale still open

I mentioned you and Randy and told a bit of your story to them and thanked them.
She said it's her 3rd year!! As long as there are hopeful people, there will be hope.

And I'll keep hoping and praying for you and Randy and all of your loved ones.

Thanks for the update Pam. I think you you and your family often, and I truly hope the treatment is effective for Randy. I checked out your Angel Fund page and love the picture of Randy with your boys. It is very apparent how much they love their Daddy! They tragedy of such a young man being hit by this awful disease really got me when I saw that precious picture. I pray for miracles and strength for your family.
