I didn't feel like digging up the old thread, so here's a nice, fresh, new one! I stumbled onto Lilith SaintCrow's 'Dante Valentine' series via a short story anthology, and am *very* happy I did! Excellent urban fantasy - fans of Kim Harrison's 'Rachel Morgan' or Jim Butcher's 'Dresden Files' will like these books. I'm about halfway into the third one right now and can barely stand to put them down.

Just getting started on the 'Twilight' series. So far it's pretty good, we'll see if it stands up to all the hype.

I'm reading the Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse Novels, books 4 & 5 came in for me today. It' neat to read the books and watch True Blood because you're getting 2 takes on the same story line. Her books are very well written, worth reading if you like sci-fi/mystery combo.

you know it is because of him that we have to sign a waiver when I left the service saying that anything I write like a book, resume, etc had to go to nsa first for approval. His book puzzle palace did it.

Last Light - Terry Blackstock But I must say...it's kinda weird to think that the whole world could come to a "stand still" b/c of something in the atmosphere becoming damaged. Nothing can work...no generators...nothing...no watches...no cars...planes falling out of the sky! It kind of gives me the heebeegeebees just reading it

I just finished "Ines of my Soul", by Isabel Allende. It was about the lover of a Spanish conquistador, based on historical fact. Very interesting.

I just finished "Wizards First Rule" by Terry Goodkind. It's the first in the Sword of Truth series--I can't wait to start the next book! There's a new show called The Legend of the Seeker that's based on this series (oddly enough, I didn't know that when I started reading it!). I've seen the first episode, and in my opinion, the books are better Also, for anyone who likes the fantasy genre, Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy ("The Dragonbone Chair", "Stone of Farewell" and "To Green Angel Tower") is probably the best I've ever read. I've wished for years that it would be made into a movie (or three!) but so far, no luck.

I turned down the Terry Goodkind book a few weeks later. I'll give the book a try now that I've heard the books are better.
