trying to determine if such laws are in effect for the following states: virginia; minnesota; michigan; new hampshire; rhode island; and wisconsin. have searched the net but could not locate proper links. any assisatance most appreciated.

Virginia - yes, see 6.1-411 and 6.1-422.1. None of the others currently have anything in effect, although several are on the table.

A good resource is Butera & Andrews.

You should also check out the Lotstein & Buckman website. They have an excellent matrix that gets updated frequently.

My problem with L&B is they don't upload the new laws as often as B&A. But they are better about notifications. So what I do is subscribe to the L&B notification email system, but then use B&A to get the actual law. It seems to work for me, so far.
