I have fallen down the rabbit ...
Are there any concerns with a bank donating to a political party, say the Republican Party? What type of regulations and laws should I be concerned with? Can you direct me to any helpful references?

Thank you in advance!

The Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 prohibits banks from making political donations; at least that is my recollection of the law. You might review also 11 CFR 114.2.

Many banks establish political action committees to which employees may contribute.

Thank you, I read the Act, it only refers to National Banks.

I think you are on a slippry slope with donation to a certain party....I think a PAC or individual person is the safest

look on 2 USC 441(b) for the prohibition of state chartered banks supporting candidates and parties in Federal elections....

you will have to look to state law concerning any limitations to local and state elections.......
