My daughter is a huge fan of the Jonas Brothers. As many of you know, they are very good role models for their young fans and are working with the salvation army this year in their red kettle campaign. My daughter has set up an online kettle and is genuinely interested in helping raise money for this cause. I guess the reason for her awareness isn't as important as the fact that she is interested in raising money for a good cause. If anyone is interested in donating to the Salvation Army this year and would like to do so online, please visit my daughter's kettle at this link. The link will also let you donate to many other kettles if you wish. She is also interested in ringing a bell for a real kettle this season. My wife and I have both done this in the past and have found it quite rewarding.

YOU CAN DONATE TO YOUR LOCAL SALVATION ARMY THROUGH ANY OF THESE VIRTUAL KETTLES

Thank You!

Looking for My Happy Place....
thomasj I will definitely visit your daughter's site! smile

My husband and I used to work very closely with the Salvation Army when we lived in CT. We were the founding members of a group that, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, ran a canteen truck that responded to calls from the fire department and police force. We provided the firefighters, police and EMS with water, gatorade, snacks and sometimes whole meals (depending on the length of time we were needed at the scene) to keep them hydrated and energized. We started off in a late '60's model bread truck, but graduated to a brand new truck that we helped design a couple of years later. It was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done and working with the Salvation Army was a great experience.
Few people know that in a disaster, the Red Cross' duty is to the victims and the Salvation Army takes on the responsibility of the rescuers (fire department, EMS, etc.)

They are a very worthy cause!

Thanks Thomas.
I have rang the bell with my daughter in previous years.
The Salvation Army is one organization that I feel good to contribute to in my area.
I visited your daughters' site and helped her with her goal.
Good luck to her and God bless her.

Thank you to all who have donated, my daughter is thrilled that people she doesn't even know have visited her kettle and donated money! I believe the official campaign ends on Thursday the 11th. It is very nice to see her devotion to the Jonas Brothers has brought about something good for her.

I love the Salvation Army. I drive past a very close Goodwill and drive about 10 miles to drop off lots of stuff there. I may set up a kettle for my kids. What a great idea! I am glad I read this thread.
