15 minutes of hard labor chipping a thick layer of ice off my car, during which I fell twice on the driveway. Drive to work while praying, slipping and sliding. Yuck! Ridiculous for sure!   Why did my ancestors settle in Chicagoland again??? They should have continued on south!!!

Why did my ancestors settle in Chicagoland again??? They should have continued on south!!! Chicago is a great place to visit in the summer, but I wouldn't want to live there in the winter.

And then we're supposed to get either thunderstorms tomorrow. Although thundersnow is pretty cool- it'll probably be rain and flooding....   How is a girl supposed to get her post-Christmas shopping done with these driving conditions?!?!

Just be glad it stays pretty much the same where you are....here it is 9 degrees (windshield of -1) on Tuesday morning - and 60 degrees on Friday...CRAZY WEATHER!!!!

The Land of Tax Free Shopping is a moderate 39 degrees. Not even jacket weather... It's been rainy here and so cold. Tonight it may get down to 38. Everything is relative HUH

I just spent 2 1/2 hours scraping ice that was 3/4 to 1 1/2 inches thick out of the driveway next to the house! We normally do not use that driveway, but relatives who are coming to visit will and it was a skating rink.... I have a blister on my hand the size of a half dollar from the handle of the shovel, and I was wearing leather work gloves.
