Mars was close enough yesterday that a few of them landed on us! Our ATM captures a BofA Visa debit card yesterday. The alleged former owner of this card came inside to demand her card back. Our teller explained that we would destroy the card and return it to BofA. She started to rant about not being able to return to CA without the card. I held strong and she demanded to see in writing what law prohibited us from giving the card back. (I never have that stuff around when I need it.) She claims that a large credit union in this state has given it back to her twice in similar circumstances. My question is this. Do the same rules apply to everyone? It would have been alot easier to return the card than have this being from Mars fouling the air in my lobby but I did not want the liability.
