Got a few at Christmas - just finished Wayne Rooney - My Story and just started Inside the Postal Bus - Behind the Scenes with the US Postal Team and the Tour de France...while not on the reading list of many, both are good reads...

Finished Scarpetta (Patricia Cornwell) and Cross Country (James Patterson) this past weekend. Thought Scarpetta was pretty good / Cross Country was too far-fetched for my taste. Getting ready to start Salvation in Death (J.D. Robb).

I received Scarpetta for Christmas and just started it. Finished a couple of mysteries this past week. Duplicity Dogged the Dachshund and Wash and Die. Both were good short reads.

Chirstmas Jars was a good quick (2 hr) read. Warmed the cockles of my heart...no really, it did. I have a jar like that and that's how I'm going to use it this year.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Just completed "Artic Drift" by Clive Cussler and "Scarpetta" by Patricia Cornwell. Really enjoyed both of them. Am currently reading "A Traitor to his Class" a book about the life of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It is very good so far.

"Loving Frank" was a great read on the love life of Frank LLoyd Wright.

I am now into the Stephen Frey financial/SEC/corp crimes series (what a dork...)

I saw or read an article about a book swap deal over the internet. People posted the books they had available to swap for other books and then folks from all over would pick them out and send you what you wanted from their collection. The only cost was shipping - some of the sites had a membership fee, but it was minimal. I thought that was a good idea. We're starting Ramsey's Financial Peace University at church this Thursday night. I have a feeling that my passion for books will be curtailed. This would be a good way to get the books we like to read for a minimal amount of money. Since so many of us on BOL like to read - I wonder if we should have our own book swap or just all join the same one?

Some folks have tried that, but I think it was hard to keep up, between the various reading rates of folks and having to get the box to the post office... I am sure those who participated will chime in here. wink

The best book that I have read recently was The Devil and Miss Prym by Paulo Coelho. I've read a number of his books lately but this was by far my favorite. I also recently re-read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. I really enjoyed that one.

What is "Scarpetta" by Patricia Cornwell about?

There is a whole series of Scarpetta books, they are pretty interesting, if you like forensic pathology.
