I went to a webinar today that essentially said there was not reason to keep original signature cards once they have been scanned and verified. Are others destroying the cards once they have been scanned?
I'm aware of several community banks in the Southwest that destroy the cards after they verify the scaned image is legible and complete (same for loan documents).
Our policy - destroy the original once you have confirmed the imaged document is a satisfactory copy of the original with the following exceptions: Negotiable instruments, certificates of title, and original promissory notes.
