Has anyone found Big Rock Traditional Ale in the US? I tried this on my honeymoon 15 years ago in Alberta and have been looking for it ever since.

Their website, bigrockbeer.com says that they distributed in CA, NV, OR, WA, MT, ID. Check their website under "offices."

Dang, I'm getting thirsty!

Yeah, I know the Corona story, but I don't like most other imported beers. Too dark and too strong.

You know they say that Coor's Light is like making love in a canoe: it's close to water!

Cheap beer in college: Huber beer or Red, White and Blue. Now you know why I prefer wine!

Huber Beer, Nanwa? Oh the memories! Is it still available? It was brewed in Monroe, Wisconsin near where I grew up.

A Grant Wood painting.
They still make Huber. I have seen it as far west as East Moline, IL.
Anyone out there brew your own? I ran accross what I think are "wild" hops. I take my lab out for runs along what was once a rail road bed. I think this vine is leftover from a bygone era. Could that be?

I'm not really a beer drinker but occasionally I will have a Bud Light, and when I'm feeling really frisky (i.e. willing to pay some $$$ for a beer) I like a Raspberry Lindemans (I think its dutch or something)

I think the Lindemans you mention is a Belgian Lambic. I started buying these for New Years. Most people like them better than cheap bubbly.

Back in my public accounting days, I once audited Genesee Brewery (local beer based in Rochester, NY, I don't think you find it outside of the area). They stuck the auditors about the furthest away from the accounting department, which meant a trip through the actual factory. The stench of stale beer was unforgettable. I think mostly because I didn't care for the beer.

Ahh, Genny Cream Ale, "brewed from the crystal clear waters of the Genesee River" (but don't eat more that 3 ounces of fish from the river each year).

Haven't thought about Genny's since I moved south!!

Cheap- Old Drills (a/k/a Old Milwalkee) and PBRs- stole them from my brothers.

Domestic - Coors Light or Michelob Ultra Lites (one step above water)

Import - Heineken (just like saying "gimme another Heiney")

I'm glad somebody else remembers Milwaukee's Best--I thought it was just a really bad college dream!

Domestic--Michelob Ultra (yes, I fell for the whole "low-carb" thing)
Import--Corona in a salted glass with lime (even if it is cheap Mexican beer)
