I heard on the news that the USPS may request the gov't to approve one less delivery day to help them save some money.

What do you think?
Should the USPS cut a delivery day to save $$?

Way, way south.
What day is your hairspray delivery? I'd rather have the streets clear of postal workers when they drive up in the tanker.

Shouldn't the total from the second poll equal the number of 'yes' votes?

They are talking about cutting Tuesday because it is a slow mail day. I am all for it. Just think about how much more I can get done without all that pesky mail to get in the way. Of course, for those of you who still pay bills by snail mail, you will need to mail your payments earlier because it is going to take longer. Of course, wouldn't it be nice if creditors spoke in terms of post-mark dates, rather than receipt dates when it came to making payments. It is kind of out of my hands once the USPS has it.

You know, I understand their thinking, but if you cut a day out of the delivery, the "slow day" is going to change. You might as well make it Wednesday so that it's more in the middle of the week, or Saturday so that mail carriers get the weekend off.

Saturday seems most logical to me.

What good would cutting a weekday do for business??

Pulling people out of the ditc...
Well, every weekday our mail is delivered around 3:00, but on Saturday it is delivered by 10. I asked why the delay, and the mailman told me "we could do it by 10 every day, but Saturday you are paid for 8 hours even if you finish early. If you finish early in the week, you either are docked hours or have to work in the office to make your 8 hours." Government efficiency, ain't it great!
