Are there any regulatory restrictions (Illinois or Fed) on how a bank can set it's own variable interest rate for commercial loan customers rather than use the WSJ prime? I thought at one time the rate needed to be published. Any help is appreciated since it appears several banks I know are thinking about setting their own "internal" prime rates rather than follow WSJ.

Nothing at the Federal level and I know of no States that govern commercial loans in this manner.
