How do you report negative income on the LAR? Borrower is self-employed and business losses made his income a negative figure.

You would use NA in the income field.

HMDA- Getting it Right guide page A-7:

If no income information is asked for or relied on in the credit decision, enter “NA.”


I'm sure that you did not rely on negative income as a basis for the credit decision.

Complyorelse, there have been quite a few threads on this subject. HMDAgal is right.
I'd suggest doing a search in the HMDA threads for "negative income". Some things with HMDA are a matter of your interpertation and being consistent with it.
