If you could spare a few prayers for our greyhound, Attitude, this morning they would be greatly appreciated. They are operating on him. He has a HUGE knot on his side <this is the third time> and they think there must be something in there to cause this to happen repeatedly. We've had him for 2 years so it had to have happened before we got him. I know he'll be fine, but I still worry.

Thanks guys!

Attitude is very lucky to have owners who took him in and care enough about him to have this checked out. Prayers for him and for his owners!

Not yet. The surgery was supposed to take place at 10:30 Central Time, which was about an hour ago. If I don't hear something soon I'm going to call them; although my husband is supposed to call me when he hears something.

Thanks. I called the vet's office around noon Central Time since his surgery was scheduled for 10:30. They told me I had to wait until 3:00 when they got the surgery update in. It's not that big of an office and I don't like waiting that long to find out about my baby.

Well, Attitude did find; however they couldn't find anything that caused the problem. They were hoping to find a splinter or something like that. They made 2 incisions and did find scar tissue <which they removed>. He's been stitched up and has a drain tube and will spend another night.

I just wish they could have found the problem.

That's odd...I know you're anxious...I'm used to being called by the vet soon as any procedure is done and even before they wake up! Positive thoughts headed your way.

May be just something like a sebaceous? cyst...Not finding anything is not necessarily a bad thing!

Bill picked up Attitude last night and said it looks like he's been hit by a truck. They shaved about 1/4 of his body and he said it looked as though they nicked him several times. He has two 6-8 inch incisions and 2 drain tubes. Poor baby doesn't feel well either. The vet's office was not polite to Bill last night when he picked him up - as a matter of fact they were kind of snippy. They had given my husband an estimate of $360 - $460 for the surgery and it was a little over $500. Due to the seemingly lack of interest in notifying us of the well being of our dog <Bill had to call twice to inquire> and the remarks my husband got last night, we will probably be switching vets. It's not the money, but when my dog is having surgery I want to know what's going on and don't want to have to wait 4 hours for them to get their 'surgery sheet' in.
