a real mardi gras drink is beer...easy to hold and you can use a huggie. mixed drinks don't work well at parades...

a good mardi gras snack is popeye's chicken...no cooking, throw the bones on the ground...

dessert is a king cake...

Just google Dew Mouth Diane Sawyer and you'll get plenty of hits to link to. Basically, the sugar in sodas in general and Dew in particular causes awful tooth decay. Sawyer did a report on Appalachia where there are a lot of gumby people 'cause they do so much dew.

Ya'll need to put down the nachos and try some of the crawdads, various types of oysters and bignets I made.

The raw oysters and rockefeller ones are my favs.

To eat the spicy crawdads, you just break 'em in half and suck the meat out of the head and tail. Don't throw all those little empty carcasses on the floor now either. Ya'll be cleaning them up yo'self.

And in true NOLA fashion, the bignets are just greasy enough with a ton of powdered sugar on them.

Hurricanes are a bit sweet for me so I'll try a Crescent City beer instead.
