When you say "generic" make sure that the forms are written to cover your state law. Florida has statutes that govern POAs. The company that I work for, Wolters Kluwer, has Florida POA forms that you can buy.

By "generic", I meant something that has no bank logo on, it is specifically for accountholders granting POA to someone to transact on their accounts with our financial institution only. Could you tell me how much the forms are through your company? Thank you so much for your reply.

I really don't know the answer to your question about pricing (I just work on the compliance content) but here is a link to a website to request that information: POA information

Do your signature cards and customer agreement support a convenience signer? If so, you may already have the ability to establish the authority without using a POA. Again, research your state code to understand the rules.

You may well be better off using the convenience signer approach that Brenda suggests if all your customer wants to do is add a signer. The use of limited banking only powers of attorney has dropped off considerably since convenience signer (or authorized signer) language has been added to signature "cards."

When a customer adds a POA to an existing checking account, does anyone have the POA sign a new signature card with the owner? We have a CIP done on the POA so we have their signature on file, but is this sufficient?

Our signature cards are signed by both the owner and the poa but we do require cip on both -per our bank's CIP policy.
