A banking question came up as to whether we were to return a VA Pension Benefit, if we had notice that the beneficiary was deceased? I did not know if it followed the same decisioning as a SSN Benefit. Help would be appreciated.

No problemo. The little suckers are portable. grin

Welcome...

It's a government check and the rules are the same...if the date of the beneficiary's death indicates the payment is not due, you return it.

I agree with Ken. If you have access to the Treasury's Green Book either in hard copy or online you can find this addressed in the chapter on reclamations. There is a very specific list of the types of benefits that are subject to reclamation and therefore you would want to return them if the customer is deceased.
