I was "raised" in banking to believe letting the customer see it or get a copy of it was strictly forbidden. smile Actually, it's not. You may show the customer the report.

As far as giving them a copy, check your contract with the credit bureau. Used to, they restricted you from providing the copy to the customer. The customer can get one for free from the bureau themselves, however.

Your contract with your credit bureau company may prevent it.
As far as regulatory - it is o.k. to show them and discuss with them.
Remember they can get a free report annually at annualcreditreport.com
So - if they get 1 from TransUnion in Jan / 1 from Equifax in May / 1 from Experian in Sept = In effect they get 3 free per year

Darn interuptions = Lesti beats me to the answer

Usually the credit reports provided to banks are a lot harder to read than the ones that are free through www.annualcreditreport.com Those are geared for non-financial people to understand.

If you deny them, you are allowed, by law, to show them their credit report. There is no guidance I have seen as to whether this means oral, written, or parts of the report or the whole thing.

A separate question is, do you want to.

And it should be noted, you don't have to. The CBA is the best equipped to discuss it with them. But it can be easier to show a person their report and tell them what you're looking at, so it can be corrected.

It is okay to show them the credit report and discuss information with them, however, it is not advisable to give it to them. According to most credit bureaus once you give out credit reports you are acting on their behalf and it becomes a liability issue.
