I'm sorry that you and Attitude are having issues. I know how hard you fought to get/keep him and I know you are doing what's best for him. I'd change vets, too.

Well, I just got to Kentucky and have seen Attitude. Although he is chipper - so much so he's bouncing off of the walls <I think he feels better> he looks like Frankendog. All I can say is 'wow', did they do a number on him. He gets the drain tubes out tomorrow, but it is going to be awhile before he heals and his fur grows back.

You might be surprised at how quickly he heals. One of mine had mammary tumors removed in December and came home with some long incisions in her tummy (only 1 drain tube, though). The first few weeks were horrible - draining even after the drain was taken out, bandages that wouldn't stay in place, a big chunk of something hanging down.

Now, you can't even see the scars.

He seems to be doing fine, although he still has a knot on his side - although it's palpable now and was hard as a rock before. We're kind of afraid to take him back to the vet. Bill lovingly calls him Frankendog now.

Thanks so much for asking, Jackie. I'm now in Kentucky - how are things in Georgia. We're currently getting some sleet.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
I didn't realize that you moved already! Did you sell your house or just give up and head north?

We do have a contract on the house and are supposed to close in April - AND I found a job locally. I start on Monday. I got here last Tuesday and our furniture arrived on Thursday. Although there is lots to do, it's a HUGE relief.

We'll miss you down this way. Maybe you can find a way to visit us at a peer group meeting some time.

Where in KY are you? I have a friend that lives up that way. She lives out in the country close to Lexington (I think). She does gourd shows also.

Lexington is about 2 1/2 hours away. I live in Bowling Green, KY which is just about 20 miles north of Tennessee. I live an hour north of Nashville and a little less than 2 hours south of Louisville.

He seems fine - for the most part. He still has a couple of 'soft' knots on his side where the incisions were made. Thanks for asking.
