We have received two fake invoices recently. Is anyone else having this problem? Is it worth filing a SAR? We have notified the postal inspector.

Is this from a company supposedly in Pasadena CA?

Our invoice was $862.42.

It a company in Los Angeles and the amount was $872.68 for toner.

The individual that pays our bills called the phone number on the invoice several times and always got an answering machine.

The check is NOT in the mail!

As for the SAR, since it's under $25,000 and you don't have a suspect then filing would be <IMHO> a waste of everyone's time and effort and not required.

We tried calling and got an answering machine that was full and not taking any messages.

we get a few of those a year. we just ignore them. we also get phone calls requesting the address of the bank. when we ask too many questions they usually hang up.
