Anyone is Colorado getting pounded by snow? I have a co-worker stranded at DIA.

I guess the storm is supposed to move East across the plains of Kansas over the next couple of days.

I live in NM and we are supposed to get a foot of snow tonight. If it happens, it will be more snow than we had all winter.

Anywhere I want to be
One of the women here has a daughter in Denver. Apparently, the visiability is only around a block due to heavy snow. Her 20 minute commute has taken her 2 hours plus and counting (still isn't home).

It was 65 and beautiful this weekend (I wore shorts!) and now it's 32 and miserable...

Any where but work
Started snowing here Friday early, bank sent me home at noon, drifting terrible and zero visibility on county roads. Snowed till Saturday late morning. Bank was closed Saturday, drift at front door and in drive-up 4+ feet. Still lots of large snow drifts in town and my yard is a mess. To bad it blew so hard, the wheat needs moisture bad.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
I'll trade the rain for the snow! We have a 12 inch deficit in rainfall so far this year but we're trying to catch up! We had anywhere from 5-8 inches this past weekend and now they're predicting anywhere from 6-10 inches between now and Thursday. Some rivers/lakes/ponds have already overflowed their banks and flooded businesses and homes. Looks like we'll have more.

how much snow measured in inches does it take to produce an inch of rain?

can snow have different levels of moisture?

who is a meteorologist around here?

I've heard an inch of rain = approx a foot of snow.

Don't know how true that is.
