Cutting is no bueno, i use to do it, and know people that still do it, it was one of the most stupidest things i had ever done, i have so many scars, that people still notice and it's been about 3 years since the last time i did.
Body art is a form of artistic expression, to me it's like decorating actually. I dont own a house or anything like that, so i decorate myself with tattoos, i also see makeup the same way, it's just tatoos will always and forever be there.

Now let me clarify, i'm not saying that just because one person has tattoos that their self image is low, no i'm just saying that's a me thing, thats how my mind works. FWIW, you don't owe anyone an explanation for why you get inked. I don't have any tats but I have been toying with the idea of getting a phoenix that runs from the top of my right shoulder down to my waist. And/or a bouqet of gladiolas with a hummingbird on my left shoulderblade. But I'm a big sissy so I probably won't get either.
