i'll be starting immortal in death (book 3). and i have book club tonight, so they will, i'm sure, select another dark torturous book about repressed women, and i'll have to read that too. ::eye roll smiley::

it's by JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts, but don't let that scare you). it's set in the future, and it's about a cop and her lovah. it's a pretty good series, i think. although there are about 30 books in the series and i'm only on book 3.

I know...it's been a long time. Actually it's been a couple years.
Well, at my last job I didn't have external internet access. Now, I do and am loving every minute of it. It's good to see some of the familiar names still on here.
As for what I have been up to?? I had moved to Missouri and was working for AIG. When they started to crash I bailed and went back to my old bank in Oklahoma. It was a good thing too. Shortly after I tendered my resignation they closed my office down. I would have been pooched.

I really struggled to get through Digital Fortress for that very reason! I didn't work there, but DH has and still stops by periodically (he's with INSCOM). I asked him to look around behind the building for the skylights of the underground section, but he just rolled his eyes at me smile

out of the frying pan...
Though I really enjoy Dan Brown's books, this is one of the reasons I primarily read fantasy - I don't have to worry about the accuracy of the material. grin

now James Bamford works on NSA are much closer to the truth, he worked there and got out before they started making you sign an agreement for that anything you get published it has to pass before NSA first, including resumes. Big pain in the butt

I'm halfway through a re-read of the Anita Blake books at the moment. I'd almost forgotten how much fun these are.

I read the first two of the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison last week while I was on vacation. I stopped at a Barnes & Noble yesterday to pick up the rest of the series and they had all but the next one I need to read! frown Ordered it online this morning so it will be a few days before I can continue that journey!
