Since I don't work with BSA as closely as I have in the past, I think I've confused myself with exempted accounts.

Question: When we exempt an account, does it matter if it's a withdrawal or a deposit and is there a threshold for filing any more? In other words, are all transactions exempt from CTRs for the account?

Transactions conducted to and through the exempted DDA or MMDA are exempted for non-listed businesses (cashed checks and currency exchanges, for example, would not be exempted).

Exempted customer cashes a check for $15,000 on his account for working funds in the store - exempted transaction?

Yes. Transit checks would not be exempted. I should have clarified, sorry.
