Has anyone heard or seen anything anywhere that banks are required to make their websites Accessible for the blind per ADA?

No. There was a ruling a few years ago that basically took websites out of the ADA picture. The same doesn't hold true for government sites.

This was a Southwest Airlines case in 2002.

That doesn't mean it isn't a good idea. I would urge webmasters to at least be familiar with the W3C guidelines for access.

I remember the SW case, but I have read other articles where BofA and Well Fargo settled with special interest groups.

I agree, it would be good if our web design group would follow the W3C guidelines.
