They have recently been notified by the DoD that they will no longer sell the casings to GA, but will instead shred the brass and sell it in bulk to...China...at a fee that is significantly less than GA is paying for the cartridges today. GA is likely going to lay of 40-50% of its workforce in the next 3 months as a result of this decision.

Of course, the proposed tax on ammunition that is meeting much resistance surely couldn't have any bearing on this...

And they wonder why folks are stockpiling ammo?

Dang! Guess we need to lay in a larger supply before this gets any uglier. We've been picking up a box or two per gun every time we're somewhere it's sold, but its already getting harder to find .40s for my husband and .38 Specials for me. The .9s still seem to be in decent supply.

Responding to two Democratic senators representing outraged private gun owners, the Department of Defense announced last night it has scrapped a new policy that would deplete the supply of ammunition by requiring destruction of fired military cartridge brass.
