Chase is opening its first branch in my area. No WaMus either. One day only, open a new checking account, with direct deposit, and get $100.

That is a pretty good bonus.

The ad said the bonus would be paid within 90 days after direct deposit starts. While I could use a hundred bucks of disposable cash, I don't want to waste their time or mine. (Although I didn't see anything on minimum balance to avoid a fee. Maybe they have an attractive account.)

It also said a 1099-INT was required.
