I've had my pc for 5 and a half years now. It's getting slow, I mean real slow! I have about 4 gigs of memory remaining out of 120 on my primary drive, and none on my 100 gig back up. I thought having all that stuff on my pc was slowing it down, because it crawls like a dial up when I access internet explorer.
Until this weekend.
I've been using Google since 1998, and I've always liked it. I started noticing "download Google Chrome" a few weeks ago. It boasts a faster internet browser, so I thought I'd try it. It doesn't not disappoint! Pages load much faster than IE7 (I won't use IE8 since it's still in beta), and it keeps the last 4-5 pages you've gone to in memory for a quick link back if you want it.
So far the only thing I don't like is that it asks to save passwords all the time. Other than that, it's fabulous!!
Anyway, I just wanted to share. I don't work for Google or anything, but I do have 10 shares of their stock.

I tried firefox a few years ago, but didn't like it. No specific reason, it just didn't "feel" right when I used it. I really can't explain it at all.
I've had a gmail account for a while now. I was invited to set one up when they were testing it. Google's a pretty amazing company - they're always coming up with something new...

I've been using Google Chrome at home for several months and would not go back. It is far and away faster than IE. I have not used Firefox and like Chrome well enough to not have a need to try it.
The only thing that I don't like is that when you click links to websites in e-mails from MS Outlook it won't open in Chrome. But the speed you get makes it worth it.

I use Firefox at home. I had Google Chrome on my pc at work until the IT police found it. They said it was horrible and would ruin your computer. I don't know what truth there is to that but anyhoo....

They have to say that, they're Microsoft Certified... I don't know what it's doing to my pc, but it accesses web pages much faster now!

Yes, Google Chrome is Super Fast! Yes, it's new and different and really cool! But if you really want to use it, make sure you are ok with all the "Fine Print" that comes along with having it installed! Firefox is the absolute best web browser available. In my humble opinion.

Bim, does that fine print include Google monitoring what websites you visit, etc.?

At work, I use IE7 and it's not bad. At home I use Safari 4 Beta (very nice browser), Firefox, and Camino.

<----Firefox at home, my husband did it. I never had a problem with IE7, until he downloaded Firefox. My only issue is that certain websites I use all the time don't work in Firefox.

[quote=LoralieMy only issue is that certain websites I use all the time don't work in Firefox.[/quote] It's probably due to some of your Firefox settings or lazy web programmers.

kitten, I've looked at Ubuntu, but I have never really felt like I wanted to take the time to download it and install it on my Mac. Now, if I had a PC, I probably would give it a shot.
