FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Did anyone else catch this episode of Oprah? The 2nd channel to our CSB affilate runs Oprah every night at 10:00. I stayed up just to watch this interview. I honestly don't know how this woman is keeping her sanity! She's been thru so much, but is apparently taking a very pragmatic approach to the entire situation. The fact that she's still very angry with Jon's infidelity was apparent.

I saw a little of it. I really feel for her. Wonder what she would do if she wasn't fighting cancer.

Our celebrities and politicians are exhibitionists, which is perfect, because our citizens are voyeurs.

Sadly, I've known more than a couple of people whose spouse had an affair...don't recall any of them doing a media campaign to talk about "how difficult it is." This is nothing but grandstanding...

Why would a person want to "grandstand" in regards to be cheated on? I think the purpose of the book is to talk about how no matter what circumstances are faced, a person, any person can make it if they are resilient. How can that be construed as Grandstanding?

I'm not trying to argue or be difficult, I'm just curious.

why do people do many things they do? Why are so many "reality" shows on TV based on loose moraled women? Why is Paris Hilton continually in the news? Why is Liz Edwards so conceited to think that the world gives a flip about her husbands affair and feels the need to write a book about it? And why does she think that her advice is something we need? If she was just Betty Jo Jones whose husband was a postal employee and she drove a school bus in Paincourtville, La., you think she'd be writing a book and be on national TV if her husband had an affair?

What do "loose moraled" women and Paris Hilton have to do with the question I posed? Mrs. Edwards did nothing wrong, she was offered a book deal to discuss her husband's indiscretion and her battle with cancer, and she took the offer. If Ms. Betty Jo Jones from Plainville, Whatever was in the same situation and someone offered her a book deal I bet she would take it. And why did you feel the need to talk about loose moraled women? Wasn't a loose moraled man involved in this situation? It take two to tango, right?
