I was flipping channels the other night when I found "They Live" on Encore. What a classic! I had to watch it! How can you not love Rowdy Roddy Piper as the star?!?! The 6 minute fight scene with Keith David in the alley that was ripped off by South Park, and one of the greatest lines ever:

"I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick a$$...And I'm all out of bubble gum!"

So I started thinking about other movies that are not critically acclaimed, but are fantastic in their own way. My favs are:

"Big Trouble in Little China" (Possibly my all time favorite fun movie!!!)
"Running Scared" (the 80s one with Billy Crystal)
"Three O'Clock High"
"Return of the Living Dead"
"Evil Dead II"
"Dazed and COnfused"
"Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

My husband must rewatch (much to my dismay) any old war movie that he can find! I would hate to hazard a guess how many times Patriot Games has been seen at our house--he can't turn the channel if he comes across that one. Same for Hunt for Red October.

Ooooo, Shawn of the Dead is a good movie!! I forgot that one!

I think I like Big Trouble in Little China so much because I was working in a movie theater when it came out. When our shift ended, a bunch of us would go in and watch it. I must have seen that movie 25 times in the theater. But I was 16 and had plenty o' time on my hands...

My favorite part of shaun of the dead is when they are drunk and they are making the horror movie sounds with the zombie walking to them, oh it makes me crack up every time!

My hubby is a HUGE Bruce Campbell fan and loves the Army of Darkness flicks. When our son was born two years ago, I practically made him swear on a stack of Bibles that our son Ash was NOT named after that character!

I'm not much of a fan of the AoD franchise, but there are some great quotes, I must admit.

"Gimme some sugar, baby"
"Clatto Verata Nicto"
"This is my boomstick!"
"Hail to the King, baby"

Or Pulp Fiction. It's just not the same without the language.

And I'll watch pretty much any romantic comedy on.
