So in honor of my packing and moving this weekend (right, you will not see four threads about me buying a new house) I was packing my collectibles last night. The banker freak in me collects "bubble" banks like this, see page four or old mechanical banks like this one . Unfortunately mine does not have quite that much original paint to get top dollar, but it does still function!

What unusual stuff do you all collect?

I collect old BMX bikes from the mid-late '70's through the mid '80's, and their related parts.

It used to be fun trying to find old bikes and parts, but there are so many people involved nowadays, it's hard to find a score.

I love those bubble banks JJ! They're really neat! We have a few of the old mechanical ones.


I collect salt & pepper shakers, and antique kitchen utensils.

if AG won't do it, can you at least start some more graffiti threads?

QCL - Longaberger's are all over at garage sales this year around here. They're asking a lot for them - but they have been at a lot of the yard sales we've been at.

I don't really collect anything anymore...Except photos I take of places I've been. My walls are covered with photos from my travels. I also have a dream of visiting every major league ballpark. SO I guess I collect memories...

I'm a basket collector also, but mine are usually old gathering baskets. Just scored a huge one at a yard sale for $10.00. It has to be at least 36" long. I named it Big Bertha.

BW - we got an old one from friends who were moving out of their home to an adult community. It is a beauty!

All I seem to be able to collect is an ever increasing workload...

But I have collected classic cars in the past and may start up again.

I collect butterflies... well more like friends and family give them to me lol.


And ear-rings ( i have tons!)

Mine are all "rustic" - they were made to be used. I make similar baskets, but with commercial reed. Most of these look like the weaving materials were local products and not commercial products.

I also make grapevine and kudzu free-form baskets.
